Alice:  Madness Returns is a psychological horror action adventure video game released in 2011.  In short, Alice is emotionally troubled by the death of her parents and falls into Wonderland which, in this game story, is an evil, corrupted place.  That’s why the costumes look dark and bloody.  Alice was living in an orphanage for mentally traumatized children before falling into the corrupted Wonderland.  It’s quite a different take on the Alice in Wonderland story.
